About The Department
The Department of Zoology, established in 1896, offers three years U.G. Course in Zoology with major focus on Modern Biology, with an intake capacity of 32 students for the undergraduate program. The Department have been designed to facilitate the students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in different cutting edge area of biological sciences. The major thrust area of Department includes Non-chordates and Chordate Biology, Ecology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Developmental Biology, Ethology, Evolutionary Biology, Wild life and Conservation, Aquatic Biology.

- To evolve as a center of excellence in advance studies of Animal sciences and to cultivate quality zoologist.
- To be a dynamic, vibrant and research-intensive department, responsive to the changing global trends, providing unparallel educational opportunities for the students hailing from lower socio-economic strata of the society seeking quality education and research with a holistic concern for better life, environment and society.

- The department organizes weekly seminars, Study tour and filed study, Career counseling session and various research project work related to zoology
